Woot Should Become a Review Store

Oct 20, 2009 No Comments by Paul Marsden

I’m enjoying Woot, the popular Group Buy social commerce store – with a bit of attitude.  Woot sells one just product a day at a deep discount – and lets shoppers discuss that item.  It started out as an employee-store / market-testing store for an electronics distributor, but grew into the deal-a-day Group Buy store that is today.  It’s deceptively simple – a blog + forum + shop – and all the smarter for it.

Can’t help thinking that Woot is underselling itself – Woot could be a brilliant advertising vehicle for new product launches – where customers agree to review products – and with positive reviews getting syndicated across social media.
