13To promote their upcoming Corporate Social Commerce Summit (March 13/14, 2012 Boston) Useful Social Media have gleaned Social Commerce Today and Social Media Influence for factoids to put together a slick Social Commerce Timeline infographic, and here it is.
Over at Useful Social Media, Brian Smith discusses infographic and the past, present and future of social commerce with Sudha Jamthe, Social Media Strategist, Social Commerce at Ebay. Three predictions on where social commerce is headed for 2012
- Gamification – adding a game layer to make social commerce sticky
- Facebook Commerce – more social shopping in Facebook with marketplaces and malls
- Social Data – a lot of experimentation with social data to learn customer’s intent to purchase to drive to better merchandising and facilitating shopping
We agree, but we think we’re going to see a lot more Social POS (point of sale) in 2012 as social commerce breaks out of the e-commerce silo and onto handsets and into stores. Your thoughts?

Great infographic, I saw some similar interesting facts on an Infographic on Twitter today – www.lovehatedata.com, worth checking if you like that type of thing.
It surprises me that Walt Disney has so many likes on Facebook. I can see the likes of Redbull breaking into the top 3. They have a really interactice profile with games/images etc, but still a good couple of million short of Starbucks.
